Accreditation
Support by educational/training institutions for the industry developed National Skill Standards for occupations within the printing and graphic communications industry has been strong. A number of institutions and companies have adapted their curricula and training programs in line with the standards.
As with our certification program, the next logical step is to recognize training institutions and programs that meet the industry developed skill standards defining competence in the printing and graphic communications sector.
Over the past two years, CPISC has undertaken research and industry consultations in order to develop a model for accreditation training programs within our industry. It also undertook a comprehensive feasibility analysis of the agreed upon model.
Unfortunately, based on discussions with both education institutions and our potential government funder, the CPISC Board of Directors made the decision that CPISC not pursue accreditation as this time as the program was not financially sustainable.
It is hoped that the program can be implemented at a later date.
