Career Focus
CPISC IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS PROGRAM
For the past three years, CPISC has delivered the Career Focus program providing federal government wage subsidy funding to employers to hire post-secondary graduates into the printing and graphic communications industry. The program gave employers the opportunity to develop the skills of industry newcomers through program agreed learning plans based on the CPISC national skill standards, helping new employees become multi-skills and adaptable workers. The program subsidized up to one third of a new employee’s wages for up to one year of employment.
More than sixty individuals participated in the program, representing 47 companies resulting in a total of $502,040 in subsidies to the industry.
The program ends on March 31, 2012. No announcements have, as yet, been made by the federal government concerning renewal of the program. CPISC will provide the industry with information as soon as it becomes aware of the status of the program.
